RONA cross-Canada expansion continues - Five major retailers add $65 million in retail sales to the RONA network in Western Canada,
Ontario and Quebec
BOUCHERVILLE, April 13 /CNW Telbec/ - RONA Inc. ("RONA" or the "Company")
(TSX: RON), the largest Canadian retailer and distributor of hardware, home
renovation and gardening products, continues to expand its network with the
recruitment of five major retailers in Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec.
In the past weeks, BSRB Matériaux Inc. of Gatineau, Quebec, First Nations
LP - Sioux Lookout of Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Lakeside Building Centre of
Sylvan Lake, Alberta, J & G Supply of Brandon, Manitoba and Shuswap Building
Supplies & Rentals Ltd. of Scotch Creek, British Columbia have joined the RONA
network, bringing with them some $65 million in annual retail sales.

Since the beginning of 2005, RONA has welcomed 14 new affiliated stores
(seven outlets in Western Canada, four in Ontario and three in Quebec),
totalling additional retail sales of $101 million.
Five market leaders choose RONA
In Quebec, BSRB Matériaux Inc., located in the Masson-Angers District of
Gatineau, is leaving its Pro Rénovation affiliation behind to hoist the RONA
Le Rénovateur banner. BSRB offers over 15,000 square feet of retail space
dedicated to hardware and home renovation products, as well as 350,000 square
feet outside for construction materials. Owners Michel Lamarche, Jean Renaud
and Laurent Bertrand plan to undertake an extensive expansion project to
increase the store's retail space in the coming year.
In Ontario, the First Nations LP - Sioux Lookout store serves the Sioux
Lookout area with over 10,000 square feet of retail space for hardware and
home renovation materials. Owners Kasabonika Lake First Nation, Kingfisher
Lake First Nation, Lac Seul First Nation, Wapakeka Lake First Nation,
Wawakapewin First Nation and Wunnumin Lake First Nation, now operate the RONA
Building Centre banner.
In Alberta, the Sylvan Lake Lakeside Building Centre (former member of
Castle) provides 20,000 square feet of retail space for hardware and home
improvement products, as well as a one-acre lot for construction materials.
Under Store Manager, Derek Smith, the store now sports the specialized RONA
Building Centre banner, serving mainly construction and renovation
contractors, the trade and experienced do-it-yourselfers.
In Brandon, Manitoba, J & G Supply (Jacobson & Greiner Ltd.) (former
member of Castle) features over 11,000 square feet of retail space for
hardware and home renovation supplies, as well as a 5.75-acre lot and a
13,000-square-foot building for construction materials. Owner Jack & Jared
Jacobson now operate under the RONA Building Centre banner.
In Scotch Creek, British Columbia, a former Irly store has joined the
RONA family. Brian and Sherry Taylor's Shuswap Building Supplies & Rentals
Ltd. combines an 8,750-square-foot hardware and home renovation store with a
4-acre lot and 5,400-square-foot building dedicated to lumber and construction
materials. The business is now flying RONA Building Centre colours.
